Inspired by the natural setting and historical artistic community of long island’s east end, the parrish art museum celebrates its legacy through a distinctive contemporary lens and socially conscious global context.
Celebrating the museum’s 125th anniversary, this landmark exhibition honors the east end’s rich artistic legacy and brings greater attention to major artists practicing here today.
A variety of materials in the studio will be available to use. The annual student exhibition, a tradition for over 70 years at the parrish, features the work of more than 1,000 young artists from eastern long island schools. The parrish art museum’s programs are made possible, in part, by the new york state council on the arts with the support of governor kathy hochul and the new york state legislature, and by the property taxpayers from the southampton school district and the tuckahoe common school district. We can all agree the pro’s and con’s of our favorite art museums. None can compare with the open spaces of the parrish art museum.
